Industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution, is in full swing. One of the most spectacular results of these changes is that industrial robots are gaining ground. Will the day come when robots take over the world like in a bad sci-fi movie or is it too early for us to dread?
1. Briefly about industrial robots
Industrial robots are automatically controlled reprogrammable devices. Regarding their use they are suitable for a number of purposes that can be automated well. Robots can be stationary or mobile.
From the beginning the automotive industry has played a major role in the development of the process of robotization and the use of robots. As the automotive industry is the leading sector in Hungary, the spread of robots is expected to be even stronger in the future.
By the way, the automation of production and the use of industrial robots to help with it is not an achievement of the 21st century. The first industrial robot was developed in 1959 in the United States. Unsurprisingly it was first used in the automotive industry at GM. Today, China, Europe and especially Japan have caught up with the US.
2. Industrial robots are getting smarter
The development in the life of industrial robots can also be divided into several stages.
- The simplest first-generation devices can only be operated by wire, the route of their movement and the activities to be performed can be specified with a computer program.
- Second-generation industrial robots are able to sense environmental changes.
- Then came the third-generation, the so-called intelligent robots with learning ability and artificial intelligence.
Thanks to artificial intelligence they can adapt to changes in the environment, are able to recognize shapes and orientation, can make independent decisions, can also solve complex tasks. Thanks to its self-learning function it modifies the entered program if necessary. They recognize sounds and are able to respond with sound.
3. Industrial robots at Autóflex-KNOTT
Industrial robots have also conquered our company. Well, we do not think it is realistic that one day industrial robots will run the company and do all the work, but it is a fact that we greatly benefit from them in production. The good news is that the valuable freed up manpower can help our company in other work areas.
We consider the use of industrial robots to be important for the continuous improvement of our competitiveness. They contribute to providing the highest possible quality to our customers.
SDA20D Assembly robot
For example, we have an SDA20D Assembly robot in operation. Its introduction in 2010 is still memorable, which was also recorded in the following video:
SDA20D Friction welding cell
A brief introduction to the implementation of automatic friction welding of an overrun device-drawtube. Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd. manufactures a wide range of trailer parts, and welding robots have been used in production for many years. One of the latest developments at the company is the implementation of automatic friction welding of overrun devices-shafts. The task was a challenge both from a technological and automation standpoint, one of the special features of which is the first application in Hungary of the Yaskawa two-armed humanoid robot.
Mazak 3D Fabri Gear MK II 220
The 5-axis Mazak tube laser also expands our possibilities. Our company has expanded its machine pool with a new Mazak 3D Fabri Gear MK II 220 laser pipe cutting machine.
We linked the handover ceremony with a home exhibition to which we invited many Hungarian and foreign interested parties.
If you need any trailer parts, go to our webshop or order them at rendeles@autoflex.hu, or by calling our domestic sales line at +3676502058. Feel free to contact us, no robots are expecting your call. Our professional colleagues are flesh and blood people and are happy to help you.
