The soul of the trailer is the axle. – as we have mentioned in one of our blog posts. That’s why it is important to know what condition it is in. If we consider the fate of our trailer seriously and want it to serve us for a long time, we should prepare it for the fall-winter period and check its axle.
That carries the “weight of the world”
No wonder that the axle is the one we have to inspect. It has to withstand the greatest load as it carries the weight. This is why this part is exposed to the most use, it wears out, sometimes gets damaged or breaks down.
The “high season” for trailers run from spring to autumn. During this period, we can travel a lot of kilometres with it, we can carry a lot of weight on it. Did you know that their lifespan can range from 20,000 kilometres to as many as 200,000 kilometres? It should be serviced regularly. But unfortunately, due to their active use, potholes can cause a surprise.
It is not worth waiting until spring with the service
We still have a sunny autumn ahead of us, and our winter is likely to be mild. This assumes that as a result of this change in the weather, the use of trailers will also extend into winter. This is why you should not wait having it serviced. If we do a routine inspection of the trailer before the cold arrives, we will not have to worry about the trailer needing an axle change after standing all winter when the first warm weather arrives.
