Today, protecting our environment is more important than ever. We feel the scorching rays of the summer sun, we have to live with increasingly frequent droughts, mild winters and adapt to more and more extreme weather conditions. It is in our common interest to try to stop the negative processes. As one of the largest companies in Kecskemét, we are doing our best to protect our environment. This is why we joined the Kecskemét Municipal Environmental Charter Protection in spring 2023, together with 15 major companies in Kecskemét.

The 16 participating companies pledged to work together to preserve and improve the environmental conditions of Kecskemét, in order to achieve the strategic goals laid down in the Kecskemét Municipal Climate Strategy. The main objectives include greenification and water retention. A key target is to reduce CO2 emissions in the city by 40% by 2030. The companies that have joined have committed to do this in their own fields.

The future of our city is important to everyone, so there was no question that we should join the “Alliance for the Future of Kecskemét”. At our site, in one of the largest factory hall systems on the Western Industrial Zone, we consume huge amounts of energy. One of our key partners in reducing energy consumption is the Japanese company YAMAZAKI MAZAK CORPORATION, or “A” MAZAK. Their basic philosophy is to push the “environmental envelope” as far as possible. We have already achieved results in a number of areas that contribute to the achievement of our goals, such as:
- The use of LED lighting systems,
- the use of renewable energy in production
- the use of hybrid/electric cars,
- operation of 2 company-owned electric car chargers,
- we have reduced the need to go to the post office, and even the cost of postage itself
- we try to recycle and reuse cardboard boxes,
- the invoices also “travel” almost exclusively by e-mail,
- internal documents are also largely stored electronically,
- when refurbishing our existing production facilities, an important goal is to reduce energy consumption,
- for new investments, it is also a basic requirement to achieve the highest possible energy efficiency,
- our aim is to continuously modernise the cooling and heating systems in our plant facilities and office buildings. For example, the modernisation of fume extraction in the welding plant of the overrun devices with heat pump air conditioning,
- In 2022-23, we are installing a solar system with significant capacity.
While our efforts require considerable effort, we believe we must do what we can to leave a liveable, sustainable planet for our grandchildren and their grandchildren.
