In our interview, we talked to Sándor Sárközi who started working for our company in 1991. He has climbed the corporate ladder, so if anyone knows what it’s like to work at Autóflex-KNOTT, it’s him. Please welcome him.
How long have you been part of the Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd team?
S.S.: I have been with the company since 15 April 1991.
Is this your first job? If not, how did you start your career?
S.S.: No, I have worked in several positions in the company. Initially I worked as a drafter and designer, then I was gradually promoted and given new positions as a production preparer, production preparation manager, axle plant manager, KTL plant manager and then domestic sales manager. I am currently responsible for domestic production in addition to sales.
What are your personal motivations? How do you see your future at the company?
S.S.: Personal relationships are very important to me, so I do my best to maintain good relations with the company’s managers, owners, colleagues and customers. My aim is to serve customers with a customer-centric approach and provide them with the best solutions. I want to continue to maintain a positive and close relationship with everyone and contribute to the success of the company.
What do you consider your greatest success at the company?
S.S.: One of my greatest achievements is that the goals outlined above are constantly being reached, e.g.: that I have managed to build good relationships with colleagues and clients. I think it’s important to help customers solve their problems, and if something can’t be solved within the company, we’ll refer them to the right place. I’m proud of our customer-centric approach. My principle is that personal contacts should not be exploited, but utilized.
What do you consider the biggest challenge in your work?
We used to solve our customers’ problems with standard solutions. Today there is a growing demand for customised solutions and immediate service.
Although we have a large stock of the most commonly needed parts, customers need to understand that we cannot keep all products in stock because of the many new products and it is sometimes a challenge to communicate this information to them in a n appropriate way. For example, there would be a need to be able to sell parts by chassis number, like for cars, but this is not possible at the moment.
The challenge for the operation of the company is to keep up with the innovations and diversity. And our departments have to adapt to this. We also place great emphasis on motivating our colleagues and ensuring consistency is a challenge, but we do our utmost to ensure customer satisfaction as the work of all our colleagues is equally important to reach our goals.
Why do you like working at Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd?
S.S.: It’s exciting to have such a variety of tasks. It can be physically tiring, but it keeps the mind fresh. We can’t get bogged down in the dull weekdays.
What is the working atmosphere and teamwork like?
S.S.: The biggest challenge is to keep our colleagues as excited as we are as leaders. We work to maintain their motivation, enthusiasm and pace.
What do we need to know about you, how do you spend your free time, how do you get out of the daily grind?
S.S.: I write a public affairs blog, which is an important leisure activity. It gives me great freedom. I also really enjoy regular brain exercises that challenge me in other ways.
What message would you send to existing and future colleagues?
S.S.: Appreciate this job because it gives us stability and family atmosphere. There is discipline, we have to perform, but we also try to take individual problems into account and do our best to support our staff. EI (emotional intelligence) is of paramount importance.
In today’s world, if there’s a bit of friction, many people immediately think about changing jobs, but problems can arise everywhere in the workplace and we need to solve them. The great virtue of our team is that we can do it together, supporting each other. Tenacious work and a customer-focused approach are very important for our success.
