Team building on snowy slopes – Autóflex-KNOTT skiing in Salzburg

Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd. places great emphasis on providing its employees not only with a pleasant working environment, but also with shared experiences. This year, on 1 February, they had the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience together: a ski trip to Austria, organised by Knott Germany, which took place on the stunning ski slopes of Salzburg.

Not only did the staff have the opportunity to ski and snowboard, but also to go sledding and enjoy a spa treatment. At the end of the day, a fun ski party rounded off the experience, where participants celebrated a successful and memorable day together.

During the skiing, participants enjoyed the snowy slopes in a fantastic atmosphere. The weather was also kind: a foggy morning was replaced by a sunny afternoon, allowing skiers to enjoy a wonderful panoramic view.

A personal account of our experience with our colleague Tamás Kovács, who took part in the skiing trip.

How do these events affect the social life and motivation of employees?

K.T.: Definitely positively, it’s a nice relaxation and a team-building opportunity. It’s a positive and positive team-building experience. I am thinking here first of all of our colleagues from Kecskemét, or even from Germany, Slovakia and Poland. Already on the bus on the way to the ski slope, we started to discuss and offer each other a little home-made delicacy. Being a relatively large group, we smiled at each other and greeted each other on the slopes, at the lifts and in the huts. Such events bring participants closer together in pleasant surroundings, which may even help us to move our work forward in the future. I was very energised.

What opportunities awaited the participants on the ski slopes of Salzburg?

K.T.: This year’s destination was Flachau, where of course skiing and snowboarding were the main activities. There was a huge system of slopes available, where everyone could find the right slopes for their ability and comfort. Beginners could take advantage of instructional slopes, even ski lessons, but they could also practise on their own on the green and blue slopes. For advanced skiers, the numerous red and some black slopes, with fan parks dotted with jumps, provided an unforgettable experience. In addition, there was also a sledding track and a sled hire service. For the more adventurous, there was also the possibility of a short excursion by horse-drawn sleigh. In addition to sport, we could also indulge in gastronomy in the cosy huts. Being in the lowlands, the magnificent snow-capped mountain panorama from an altitude of nearly 2000 metres in the glittering sunshine was unforgettable.

Who could attend the event? (Employees, family members, partners?)

K.T.: In this case, employees of the Knott Group were present, but no family members or partners to my knowledge. There were 16 of us travelling from Kecskemét.

Apart from skiing, what other activities were available to the participants?

K.T.: After the slopes closed in the afternoon, the parties started in the huts and pubs down below. In the quieter places, there were dinners, friendly conversations and toasts. Alongside them, in several venues, different styles of music and volume levels were played to rev up any weary snow lovers. There was something for everyone. For those who are not winter sports enthusiasts, there was a full day of wellness, with pools at different temperatures and glass windows to admire the snowy landscape.

What were the experiences of the participants? Is there a particularly memorable moment?

K.T.: The physical fatigue was definitely compensated by the extraordinary ski experience and the comfortable hotel.  In good weather, the wonderful panoramic views, the fresh air and the crunch of the snow always fill me up. I must also mention the kindness and friendliness of my foreign colleagues. We probably wouldn’t have had the chance to meet them in normal everyday life.

Overall, how was the ski party?

K.T.: The whole trip was spent in a good atmosphere, getting to know each other and talking. Everyone spent the weekend active or not so active, but definitely recharged and enriched with experiences. The skiing, the snowy mountain scenery, the fresh air, the exercise, the food and drinks were a great way to get away from the daily routine.

Thank you to the German and Hungarian leaders of the Knott Group for this opportunity and I look forward to more of the same in the future!
